Management
Municipalities are increasingly concerned about maintaining their infrastructure
and other capital assets through planned major maintenance/rehabilitation/replacement.
Hemson has developed financial database/analytical models to assist decision
makers understand the scope of financial requirements and to assess alternative
funding strategies. Some clients requiring assistance in this area of
included the Region of York, City of Brampton, and the Town of Richmond
Hill.
Financial Impact Models
Hemson has developed financial impact models to assist municipalities
in understanding the financial implications of various decisions. Among
the clients whom Hemson has prepared for include the Region of Peel and
the towns of Richmond Hill and Markham.
Development Charges
Hemson has extensive experience in preparing development charges background
reports for municipalities as required by the Development Charges Act.
We have provided development charge policy advice to both large and small
municipalities individually and in groups. In 2003/04 Hemson prepared
over 25 background studies for municipalities across Ontario.
