Ray Simpson is a founding partner of Hemson and has 35 years of professional experience as a management consultant and urban planner. He considers himself a “big picture” planner and has directed planning studies for a wide range of public and private clients throughout Canada and in parts of Europe. The majority oif his career has been devoted to issues of long-range strategy, urban structure, municipal management, and the delivery of urban services.

Ray is an Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo and has also taught as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Law School. He has twice served as “Planner in Residence ” at the University of Waterloo.

Ray currently resides in Cabbagetown in downtown Toronto.
