Russell Mathew is a partner at Hemson with more than 21 years of professional planning experience. He is the managing partner of Hemson’s extensive urban planning practice, and is widely known for his expertise in the areas of demographic and economic forecasting and land economics. Along with developing forecasting methods that are used by numerous municipalities and regions in Ontario, he has developed a range of skills in economic development-related studies, strategic planning, growth management, land use planning, and financial modeling. Russell received his Bachelor of Science in Geography and Mathematics from the University of Alberta and his Master of Science in Planning from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Planning and Development Committee of the Toronto Board of Trade, a Registered Professional Planner, and a member of the Ontario Association of Land Economists. Russell regularly guest lectures at the Universities of Toronto and Waterloo. Russell has travelled the world and has recently visited Mexico, Italy, Ethiopia, Brazil, Laos and Cambodia. When not abroad he lives in the Trinty-Bellwoods community in downtown Toronto. He also serves on the board of directors for two of Toronto’s performing arts committees. |
